Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in power within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might appear mismatched, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team knows exactly where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, invading the secret base, assaulting the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as key figures in the influential clan could enable the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to form the Seekers and Strategists tables.
Fans can look forward to learning which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on next week.
