Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is unclear and the US has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
It said wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
